Simple Things

Yesterday was just another quite day at home. The girls played really well together and it was actually pretty relaxing. They found some blocks packed away in their armoire that they never wanted to play with before but for some reason they thought they had hit the jackpot last night and even this morning. When I was cleaning out our bathroom cabinets the other day I found some foam capsules that turn into farm animals when they are put in water. The girls went CRAZY over those too.

Today they have all been pretty good. I don't know what has come over my children but they are behaving lately!! I am so ready to have 2 cars again. Then we can actually get out during the day sometimes. I have gotten a lot accomplished lately too. The other night I cleaned out the bathroom cabinets and ended up with 2 30 gal. trash bags full. Yep that is right. I had roughly 60 gallons of trash sitting under my bathroom cabinets from the past 2.5 years. There were cleaning products that had rusted and exploded and all sorts of stuff I didn't realize I still had. Now it is perfectly clean and organized and ready for my stockpile of deals I will get with the Grocery Game. Oh how good it feels to be organized!!

Tomorrow I have a few errands to run but I have been learning to be more content with staying home and spending less money on gas/shopping. It really is a learning process. I think even hubby is surprised with how much I have been staying home. The kids and I have been doing more activities together and so far the house has been staying relatively clean the past week or so. I guess some New Years resolutions CAN be kept after all.

I went through withdrawal when I started staying home more. Now, though, I prefer being home and I'm saving so much money by not buying little things here and there when I'm out.

My girls would have flipped over those animal things, too :)

Oh and YAY you for cleaning out the bathroom cabinets. That's the ONE place in my house that is never looked through often enough.
