All for a Dollhouse

Today I packed up all 3 of the kids and went to Once Upon a Child. I sold some of the kids older clothes and found a few new things for Macie. As we were leaving I looked up and saw the cutest little dollhouse. I asked them how much it was and they told me $25. I didn't plan on buying it but then they opened it and discovered that it had working lights and light switches in the house. I flipped and so did the girls. Well I didn't have enough on me to get everything so they held it with my promise to come back today.

By the time we got home it was pouring rain. We got soaked coming inside the house. It was looking like we weren't going to get a chance to get back there today. I called the store back and they said they would hold it until tomorrow but that someone else had already wanted it after I left. I kept trying to figure something out and then I called my dear friend and she agreed to come babysit so I could go pick it up in the rain. (Thanks my dear dear friend!!!) It is huge and very cool. I have never seen anything like it. The kitchen looks like a real kitchen. The fridge lights up inside when opened. The fireplace makes crackling noises and lights up and there are several room lights that have an actual room switch on the wall. Seriously awesome!!! It is a big hit. It was worth the $27 plus 1/4 tank of very expensive gas. Here all 4 of the kids(mine and my friends) all falling over each other to play with it. Did I mention the doorbell rings and that it has a computer that lights up too?

Some of my best memories from my childhood are playing with my dollhouses with my mom. She still has them and they play with them whenever they go over there. I want my kids to have memories like that too. This was too good to pass up and I hope we have many years of great memories with it. All of this trouble for a dollhouse. It was worth it.
