Instant Gratification

I have the patience of a one year old. It is one of the biggest things I don't particularly like about myself. I am all for instant gratification. So sitting and working on a project for weeks and maybe even months doesn't really sit too well with me. A few weeks ago I started a project. A project I am LOVING. It is another granny square blanket but this time all my squares are different. There is no rhyme or reason to them at all and I am having a blast with it. But recently I have started to slip and the desire to plow through this one has been hard. I am still very excited about it don't get me wrong but it is very time consuming. Granny squares are so soothing to do but when you are switching colors every row or so and tying off all your colors it takes quite a while.

So what do you do when you need a break from your current project?

Well you start another one. One that will give you instant gratification to make you feel better. This blanket will take me a week or so to finish. The pattern is continuous and the colors I choose are extremely soothing. So tonight I am starting. Give me a week or so and I will have a large completed afghan ready to be used on our first chilly night. Then I am hoping I will be ready to jump back on the unfinished project.

Aren't the new colors soothing???

LOL This sounds like a post I would write! I get into a project so excited and then start to loose steam as time goes on. Over the weekend I began cross stitching Dylan's stocking. I'm determined to get it done in time for Christmas. In digging through my supplies to see what floss colors I already owned, I found 3 unfinished cross stitch projects. Oops. :D
