Space Saving Techniques Wk. 1

I have decided to start something new on my blog. Every week I am going to do a post on space saving techniques. Sometimes I will post pics sometimes I will just give some tips. Hopefully this will help at least some of you out.
We live in a 2 bedroom apt. When we first moved in 3 years ago it was just 4 of us. Then little man came along and I just about panicked over the space we had available. I have found a ton of things that help when you have limited space. Luckily the kids room is really big and we have 2 huge walk-in closets plus a very large pantry but we also have a ton of stuff.

Week 1: This week I want to emphasize how handy the top of the fridge really is. All of these canisters came from Ross. They were a real bargain too. Most of them were about $2 and the most expensive one was only $6. They don't hold Flour, sugar or coffee. That is what the pantry is for. I put them to good use by holding all of our medicines. The kids medicines fit in the blue one and ours in the green one. Then I use the others to hold macie's epi-pens and other small things. The Cruise money one I picked up last night for $1.99 and it holds our spare change that we collect and then cash in. The great thing about having them up there is that the kids can't get to the medicine because it is so high. Plus it adds color to our kitchen. Our kitchen is pretty small so I am thrilled that I can get some extra storage like this.

Please let me know what you guys think of this weekly idea. I love posting things about our home and I would like for some of you to get some good ideas. If you want any ideas for a specific room just let me know and I will try to get it in next week. I love feedback so let me know.
