Another Decluttering Victory

There is a spot in our bedroom that is always messy. Papers and everything without a home make their way to this spot. It is our dresser. Last night I finally said enough is enough. When I wake up this is the first thing that I see since it is at the foot of our bed. So last night I did a major overhaul. This morning I woke up and to my amazement I didn't see clutter and things falling off onto the floor. I think I could get used to this. I must also add that I do see how smudged our mirror is. I will get to that soon.

In case you can't tell on the right side of the T.V is a dolphin tiffany style lamp I got for Christmas years ago. I LOVE it and no matter where we move it always has a home somewhere. The light bulb is burned out but when I get a new one it will be lit all the time.

I am feeling pretty good about this. I have to get our entire room organized and decluttered before I can start on our bedroom closet. I can't get to my clothes and it is a walk in. I am too embarassed to share before pics of that but hopefully I can get to it sometime next week.

This morning I felt really crappy so we just took it easy. The girls colored a lot and I got a little but of stuff done in our room. I will share more pics of my progress soon.

It looks like I am in for a long night. I have some pretty hefty goals to conquer. Wish me luck!

I have several "collect all" places in my home. My dresser could use some spiffing up. I'm hoping to at least pull off some of the picture frames on it and move them to the ledge I built this weekend. That would be a HUGE start. :)

BTW, I don't know why, but I'm on a bit of an organizing kick right now too. Found a good book at the library - The Everything Organize Your Home Book. Has some good tips.
