Boxes and frugal math

Boxes are starting to over run our apartment and I could not be happier!! I have been packing up like crazy and things are really setting in for me. I have been so excited about moving that I forgot that this place has been home for the past 3 years. We have a ton of memories invested in this place. It will be bittersweet to leave it behind.

I went to Wal-Mart today to pick up a few things for the next few days. The prices on EVERYTHING have gone up in the past week. I just bought some packages of ground beef about a week ago for $1.63 each. Now they are $1.72 each. This price rising thing is getting ridiculous.
Tonight I decided to make a simple dinner and calculate the cost of the meal. Tonights dinner cost $2.97

1 pkg. ground beef- $1.63 (before it went up)
1 bx. angel hair pasta- $.88
1 pkg. Ragu spaghetti sauce-$.46 ( had a coupon)

Not too bad for a dinner. Without the coupon and with prices on the rise it will be higher than that normally. I really have to start shopping smarter. I do the grocery game which helps a LOT but I still have to buy our weekly regular groceries and I know there is room for improvement with my list.

I am hoping to box up a lot more stuff tonight. Of course I have to watch this weeks episode of LOST first. I do have priorities. I have been talking about moving and my excitement so much my hubby is ready to leave me.

And before I close this post up I do want to say that I am aware that this post was all over the place. Just some random feelings and thoughts. Stay tuned for a more organized post soon.

Your BLOG doesn't have to be organized like everything else in your life! It's your space to write what you are feeling and thinking!

Anyhow.. yes, a lot of memories in that apartment, one Joe will never let you live down! lol..

Have fun packing! Love ya and miss you!

If you aren't busy Sunday, come on over for a Mother's Day celebration! I get home at 2:05 pm!

Best of luck packing! Excellent job on the low cost dinner. I was playing a similar math game tonight with ours. The chicken was leftover from last night so I didn't count it. But the PastaRoni we had was 50c after the weekly sale and a coupon. Mind boggling. Two dinners for 50c. And if we went out it would have been probably $15 minimum.

$2.97 for dinner is a really good price!

I'm so excited for you and your new place.
