Bittersweet

There are so many things that are bittersweet about this move.

1. My little boy is going to be introduced to his big boy bed. He is growing healthy and happy and hopefully he will be ready for this transition. BUT this is also the last week I will ever put one of my babies to bed in a crib. We are really leaving the baby stage now.

2. My daughter is starting Kindergarten and is going to learn and accomplish so much as well as make new friends. BUT she is my first baby and the time has literally flown by.

3. We are moving into a beautiful new apartment with hard wood floors in the kitchen and dining room, huge closets and a fantastic kitchen. BUT we are leaving an apartment we have called home for 3 years. An apartment that we expanded our family in, made memories in, grew emotionally and spiritually as a family in.

This move is going to be hard on me in a lot of ways. I know this new home is a starting over point for us. So much still awaits our family and I can't wait to experience it all but at the same time I have to let go of so much. This isn't going to be as easy as I had originally thought.

Like I said in another post, you will have new memories, but you will always remember the ones you have already made!

Aww, I know the feeling. Happy for all the things ahead but sad to leave behind all the things from the past few years.

I can't imagine how I'll feel about moving my last baby to a big boy bed. It'll be so strange, especially since you have 3 so close together- "baby" has been your life for so long and it's ending. I bet the new phase will be the best yet, though!

I totally know what you mean!! I had a really hard time with Sarah starting Kindergarten this year - very bitter sweet. It's been a great year though and she loves school (and the one on one time with Anna while Sarah's in school has been awesome too). LOTS of bittersweet moments in parenting. Loved this post!

Change is always tough! There are lots of things you are leaving behind but so many more memories to be made. I will be praying for you during this transition time in your life.
