Just the beginning

Yesterday I celebrated my 25th birthday. This one was a hard one. In fact I was so upset I was turning 25 that I didn't want to do anything to celebrate it. My mom wanted to come over so I told her if she bought a cake it better not say Happy Birthday on it. Well she did buy a cake and she did put happy birthday on it but she made up for it by giving me this absolutely fantastic set of 6 colorful mixing bowls from Target.

I had my eye on them for a few months and one day I was shopping with her and saw them again and pointed out how much I LOVED them. Well she surprised me yesterday! She turned my day into a pretty good one and then last night hubby surprised me too. I was in the bathtub when he came home from a job and the first thing he did was hand me a bouquet of Stargazer Lillies. I LOVE stargazers. These are absolutely beautiful and when I woke up this morning my whole house smelled like them.

So I guess my birthday did turn out to be a pretty great one. I am just having a hard time. Probably because 25 means you really are an adult. You would think that getting married and having kids would have made me feel like one but for some reason this age thing is getting to me. But I am adjusting to it and I am thankful for every single birthday I get.

I woke up this morning feeling pretty dang good. I walked into my kitchen and saw my bright and happy bowls and smelled my gorgeous flowers from my amazing hubby. I am lucky. I am blessed and you know what? 25 is just the beginning!!

Happy birthday!! :) I didn't mind 25 so much. 26 was weird. Next month will be 30 and that has been an adjustment. Not sure why. As you said, I'm trying to remember how great it is to make it this far and be healthy & happy.

Your mom & DH spoiled you wonderfully! Love those fun bowls and the gorgeous flowers. :)

Happy Birthday! I had a really hard time turning 25 too (that was many years ago). I felt the same way you really felt like I was an adult (even tho I had 2 kids and had been married for several years). Looking back on it now, my later 20's were some of my best years!

Happy Brithday!
I know exactly what you mean. I turned 25 this year and I was really not happy about it. Still am unhappy about it, actually.

Just think- at least it's not 30!
My husband turned 30 this year and that helps me feel younger. lol
