Macie's bestfriend in school has an inoperable brain tumor and has taken a turn for the worse. Today Makayla heard that she was going to die and was upset too. We have kept it pretty low key with Macie ,telling her only that her friend is sick since that is what the parents, Macie's teacher and us all agreed to say. But today it was time. Hubby and I discussed it and we decided it was time to tell Macie the truth.
It was the most horrible thing we have ever had to do as parents. By the time we were done hubby, me and Macie were all crying. How do you tell a 5 year old her best friend is going to be with Jesus? Tonight hug your babies. Don't take a single second for granted. Tell them every single day how much you love them and never stop letting them know what they mean to you.
Tonight our hearts are heavy. And after we say our prayers tonight I am going to devote more time to thanking God for my healthy, happy and safe babies. So hug your kiddos extra tight tonight.
