A day at the Beach

I think that this is the biggest picture post I have ever done. When we went yesterday we didn't expect the weather to be so nice. We thought the water would be way too cold to step foot in. We were wrong. It was a little chilly in the water but the day itself turned out to be perfect. Makayla took to the water like a mermaid. Macie loved it but also enjoyed walking along and the boy...well he was perfectly content to sit and dig in the sand. Towards the end he got brave and returned to the water but in the beginning he was pretty scared.

We went with my in-laws and the 5 of us. It worked out really great that way. They took Macie on a stroll down the beach while hubby and I sat and watched the other two play. I even got a few moments of peace when they took Macie and hubby took the boy and Makayla down the opposite way. I got to sit quietly and watch the waves roll in. It was a wonderful day. I can't wait to scrapbook it. We were all exhausted by the time we made it home. Hubby and I got burned on our feet. It is surprisingly painful. The boy got burned on his face which really upsets me. I used tons of sunscreen on them all but it is so hard to get a wet, sandy kid covered in lotion.

So here is our day wrapped up in way too many pics.

Wonderful photos! DH & I are hoping to slip in a quick weekend beach trip in April. And I understand the pain of sunburned feet. One visit I completely forgot to put sunscreen on the tops of my feet and practically got sun poisoning. It was miserable. Hoping your burns aren't too bad and you all feel better quickly. :)
